| The Barcelona Symphony and Catalonia National Orchestra was founded in 1944 and is dedicated to sharing classical and contemporary music from all cultures and tendencies with the public. Each year, under the name “L’Auditori Simfònica” (The Symphonic Auditorium), they present their season of concerts in Barcelona’s Auditorium: one of the big public projects created in the mid-eighties that was born out of the desire to create a great cultural center for the city. The goal, in this case, was to encourage people who like classical music, but for one reason or another had stopped going to concerts, to buy season tickets. We used the contrast between silence and music to express this; the message was “feel it again”. |
